Opening by appointment

For folk who need a quieter environment where they can control the sensory environment – for example turning off the lights, or all the sounds in the gallery – or who are shielding from COVID – we can open by appointment. These would take place when the gallery is closed (after 5pm, or on Mondays and Tuesday). If you would like to see the exhibition by appointment, please email [email protected]

Please let us know in the email if you are shielding, and the gallery attendant will wear a FFP3 mask.

Seating in the gallery

There are 2 seats in front of each of the TV screens and in front of Interactive Light Box. There is also an IKEA Poang armchair and a large soft beanbag-type seat in the Quiet Space. In the gallery space there is no fixed seating due to space constraints. But we have folding chairs at the front desk that the attendants can place for you – please just ask!

Information for Wheelchair Users

Euan’s Guide page for Patriothall Gallery

Access to the gallery is down a lane with narrow pavements. It may be easier to go in the road, depending on the size of your wheelchair. There is cobbled paving in the courtyard outside the gallery. Please call 07305853884 if you need help to navigate these and we will be happy to help.

The gallery has level access throughout, and a large-cubicle toilet. The toilet does not have an emergency cord or bars to aid transfer though. Wheelchair users may prefer to use the accessible toilet at nearby Stockbridge Library – gallery staff can direct you.

See the Euan’s Guide page for Stockbridge Library

The nearest Changing Places Toilet is 0.58 miles away at Johnnie Walker Princes Street
